“No enmity with anyone” injured PML-N leader clarifies

Lahore: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Bilal Yasin, who was earlier attacked by unknown people and was severely injured, has clarified Saturday that he had no enmity with anyone, and he was living alone.

CCTV footage of the incident showed an assailant dismounts from the bike and starts firing on the PML-N leader while his accomplice moves the two-wheeler at a slow speed. After spraying bullets on the MPA, the assailant quickly mounts the bike and both the riders speed away.

Talking to media after the incident, Yasin said that he was meeting people of his constituency as usual when two men wearing Dolphin police jackets appeared and started firing. He said it was quite unbelievable for him why did they shoot at him. He said he had no enmity with anyone and usually he moved alone. He said that he asked the police to perform geofencing to apprehend the culprits.

Condition of Bilal Yasin is stated to be out of danger in Mayo Hospital. The bullet hitting his belly was also removed through a surgery.

In his statement recorded to the police, Bilal Yasin said that he was roaming in his constituency as usual. “I do not know who attacked me.”

Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar phoned Bilal Yasin and inquired after his health.

On the other hand, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi also condemned the incident. He said that the people who did the crime should be punished as per law. “Bilal Yasin will be provided with the best medical facilities. We pray that he recovers at the earliest. The government should arrest the accused as soon as possible,” he added.
