PPP terms Murree tragedy as govt’s failure

Islamabad : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Secretary General Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has expressed grief over the deaths in Murree incident and difficulties faced by tourists in Murree and Galyat.

Nayyar Bukhari, in a statement on Saturday further said that despite knowing that a lot of vehicles and civilians have reached Murree, ‘irresponsible rulers have been beating the drums of people’s prosperity instead of security measures’.

He said that human tragedy was testimony of government’s tourism promotion. “Bad governance is clearly evident now” he said.

Nayyar Bukhari said that no safety measures were taken for the movement of vehicles and people hilly areas. “Immediate provision of food and warm clothes is compulsory to help the citizens. It is worrying that tourists and locals are trapped in their homes in Galyat and Murree” Nayyar added.
