Protest of paramedics at LGH & PINS ends

LAHORE: The protest of paramedics against the transfer of two employees at Lahore General Hospital and Punjab Institute of Neurosciences has ended. Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Professor Dr. Sardar Muhammad Al-freed Zafar has played a central role in negotiations with associations of paramedical staff.

Principal Prof. Al-freed Zafar held detailed talks with the Provincial President Pakistan Health Support Paramedical Staff Association Rana Pervaiz and Chairman Allied Health Professionals Junain Mayo and assured them that all possible steps would be taken for the return of the two transferred employees by the Health Department. Announcing the end of the strike, the leaders of the alliance assured that they would carry out their duties as usual and they will be no more strike in LGH/PINS.

Talking to the employees, Principal PGMI said that the medical field could not tolerate any strike as saving human lives and serving the suffering humanity is our first duty which is also a core part of the oath of our mission. He said that apart from doctors, nurses and paramedical staff are equally important for health services, so he has decided to talk to them himself. On this occasion, the paramedics announced immediately end the protest and resumed their services in all fields including Outdoor, MRI, CT scan and other departments on which the patients breathed a sigh of relief and offered their special thanks to Principal Prof. Al-freed Zafar for restoring these services.

Prof. Al-freed made it clear to the officials of the association that he would personally request the Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education to return the transferred employees and In Sha Allah this matter will be resolved in the next 24 hours.
