SC suspends BHC decision on appointment of Dr Shahid Amin as CEO Livestock

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while admitting for hearing government appeal plea against the decision of Balochistan High Court (BHC) in connection with appointment of Dr Shahid Amin as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Live Stock has suspended BHC decision regarding appointment of Dr Shahid Amin.

A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Gulzar Ahmad took up appeal plea for hearing Friday.

During the hearing of the case, CJP inquired how is the jurisdiction of BHC in the matters of federal institution. SC judgments are there in regard to the jurisdiction of high court.

The counsel Kamran Murtaza took the plea during the hearing of the case surely there will be judgment of SC on this point.

The CJP while reprimanding Kamran Murtaza remarked when the court asked about the reference in regard to judgment then you say there will be judgment. Do you not know about the decorum of the court. This is not said before the court that there will be judgment.

The counsel Kamran Murtaza took the plea “ I know about the decorum of the court therefore, I appear with respect. It seems as if the court does not want to hear me.

Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan while addressing counsel Kamran Murtaza remarked notice has not been issued to you still. When notice is issued then we will hear too.

The court while admitting government appeal plea for hearing against the BHC decision in connection with appointment of Dr Shahid Amin CEO Livestock suspended the BHC decision about appointment of Dr Shahid Amin.

It may be mentioned BHC had ordered to appoint Dr Shahid Amin as CEO Livestock. Federal government filed appeal plea in SC against the BHC decision.
