Sherri mourns deaths in tragic Murree accident

Islamabad : Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Vice President Senator Sherry Rehman while expressing sorrow over tragic death of 19 people in Murree said that the heartbreaking incident was regrettable, sympathy is extended to the families of the victims.

In a statement on Saturday, she said that her party stood with victims, while the government needed to be more vigilant.

PPP vice president said that tourism is booming and the government could have warned more tourists to close the roads instead of inviting them. We need to learn a lesson from this tragic incident, she said.

Sherry Rehman said that thousands of cars were still stuck in extreme temperatures in the hill station. More than 155,000 vehicles entered Murree since Monday, she added.

Rehman said that traffic should have been monitored accordingly. She asked social media users to stop posting pictures and videos of the victims, adding that that it is our duty to respect the family and the deceased.
