190 million pounds case: Court rejects accused persons plea for summoning NAB board meeting record

RAWALPINDI: Judge Nasir Javed Rana of Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has rejected the petition from the accused for summoning the record of board meeting of NAB in Al-Qadir Trust reference in 190 million pounds financial scandal against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi.It has been said in the petition NAB in its board meeting on April 23, 2020 had closed 190 million pound at complaint verification level. Therefore, record of NAB Board meeting be summoned.The important witness of NAB and investigating officer of the reference could not be cross questioned on Monday too.The court adjourned the hearing till August 15.The two accused, Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi, prosecutor general of NAB, Amjid Pervez and counsels of the accused including Barrister Suleman Safdar, Usman Gill, Zahir Abbas too appeared in the court.NAB investigating officer Umar Nadim was also present but he could not be cross examined.NAB authorities told reference has been filed on the basis of new evidence. The executive board meeti ng of 2020 has nothing to do with the cross examination of investigating officer statement.
