190 million pounds case: Court should decide suspension of sentence case first instead of appeal: Barrister Suleman Safdar

Islamabad: During the hearing of 190 million pounds case in Islamabad High Court (IHC). Barrister Suleman Safdar counsel for PTI founder has insisted during his arguments the case related to suspension of sentence be decided first and then arguments be given on appeal.

My client has directed me first suspension of sentence case be got decided then arguments be given on appeal, he argued during hearing of the case Thursday.

Upon it the court while giving time to respondents for preparations of arguments adjourned the hearing of the case.

The petitions regarding suspension of sentence in 190 million pounds case came up for hearing in IHC.

Barrister Suleman Safdar appeared on behalf of Imran Khan.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Sarfraz Dogar inquired why are you not giving arguments on appeal.

Barrister Suleman Safdar said there is no objection on hearing appeal but the matter of suspension of sentence be decided before it.

Barrister Suleman Safdar said he met PTI founder on April 8 under court's order. My meeting with Bushra Bibi was not arranged. PTI founder told him he is not seeing from one eye.

PTI founder told doctors have told him the eye sight cannot be corrected. PTI founder is being kept in solitary confinement.

Barrister Suleman Safdar said deputy superintendent of Adiala jail made me call on April 16. Deputy superintendent said there is emergency with reference to Bushra Bibi. Surgery of right eye of Bushra Bibi was conducted. She met with her family members. Bushra Bibi should have been kept in hospital for two to three days more.

The hearing of 190 million pounds case was adjourned.
