IHC rejects PTI plea for immediate suspending election commission schedule for holding by polls in 9 constituencies

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected PTI plea for immediate suspending the schedule of holding by polls in 9 constituencies.

The case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Justice Amir Farooq here Wednesday.

The court inquired during hearing of the case what is legal justification that the schedule for holding by polls be suspended. The matter of 9 vacant seats came up before Election Commission and it gave election schedule.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for PTI told the court we are too seeking election from the very first day. But we want election should be held on all the seats at a time.

The court remarked we will see this matter on August 16.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till August 16.

Imran Khan will be arrested if evidences are found : Rana Sana Ullah

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sana Ullah has said Shahbaz Gill statement was part of a planned program and all these people are included therein.

“ meeting was held under Imran Khan and he will also be arrested if proofs are found , he said this while talking to a private TV channel here Wednesday.

Today Imran Khan is saying that opportunity for defence should be given before arrest, he held. Case of recovery of 15 kilogram heroin was registered against me. Was I given the opportunity to explain my position before my arrest.

Shahbaz Gill statement came under a planned conspiracy. All these people are included in it.

The institutions people were asked not to comply with the orders when received. Neither Shahbaz Gill was prevented nor any interference was made on this statement.

Shahbaz Gill has said in his statement he did not mean what he said.

Shahbaz Gill was arrested after registering case against him, he indicated. He was presented in the court within 24 hours. All the legal proceedings will be carried out. The report of any violence against him or his driver is wrong.

 

Institutions are our life: Shahbaz Gill

ISLAMABAD: PTI leader Shahbaz Gill has said the institutions are our life.

When asked by a journalist here Wednesday that was giving statement against the institution a party policy he said “institutions are our life. There is nothing such like in my statement of which I feel ashamed. My statement is statement of a patriotic. My statement is a statement based on love for army.

He went on to say I did not try to incite any one. I had talked about the bureaucrats who are saying wrong things. This is a political case and it is being carried out under political victimization.

He underlined army is sacred institution. It is binding on all of us to respect the institutions.

Police presented Shahbaz Gill before court in sedition case and he was handed over to the police by the court on two days physical remand.

Imran Khan future PM:Asad Qaisar

PESHAWAR: Former Speaker National Assembly (NA) Asad Qaisar has said Imran Khan is future Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan ..

“ Imran Khan is future PM. We are not slaves of any one. We want independent foreign policy, he said this while talking to media men on the occasion of his appearance in Peshawar High Court (PHC) Wednesday.

He stated he had not come there in connection with his bail before arrest. We had opened account only for our facility. This is not illegal. This is not mandate of FIA. Account was opened for the salaries of employees and expenses of office.

All the matters related to depositing and withdrawing money from the bank account have taken place thorough cheque, he indicated.

Transaction of only Rs 21 lac took place through the account during the 6 years.

He went on to say party is passing through a movement at present. Imran Khan is future PM.

It may be mentioned that Asad Qaisar has decided to challenge FIA notice in Peshawar High Court .

FIA has summoned Asad Qaisar in prohibited funding case.

Shahbaz Gill handed over to police on two days physical remand

ISLAMABAD: Shahbaz Gill, chief of staff of Imran Khan chairman PTI has been handed over to police on two days physical remand.

Kohsar Police Islamabad presented Shahbaz Gill in the court of Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabir Wednesday.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Shahbaz Gill also appeared in the court.

The investigation officer requested the court to grant physical remand of Shahbaz Gill for 14 days for further investigation from him in respect of other persons allegedly involved in the offence.

Faisal Chaudhry counsel for Shahbaz Gill while opposing the physical remand said there is no ground for obtaining physical remand of his client while he was in the police custody earlier since the last 24 hours. His client has been tortured and request is made for his medical examination.

The court rejected the Police plea for granting physical remand for 14 days and only two days remand was given.

The court also directed to present the accused again on August 12 in the court.

May be what Shahbaz Gill has said is not correct but a clear law is there on this count: Asad Umar

ISLAMABAD: PTI secretary general Asad Omar has said may be whatever Shahbaz Gill has said is not correct but a clear law is there in this regard.

“ Pulling Shahbaz Gill out from the car by hitting him with butts of rifles and breaking the panes of car and then arresting him makes it clear this government is feeling itself hollow from within, he said this in a statement issued here Wednesday.

He went on to say that July 17 is main reason behind creation of this situation when the people rejected the fake imported system in the by polls and snatched power from them in Punjab. Now panic is at play in their ranks. They are confused and they are unable to understand what they should do.

He underlined that the entire nation has stood with Imran Khan who has become a threat for the old traditional political system. Earlier testing press conferences were held in order to overcome this situation. Later a report of election commission came before us. Later 18 to 20 press conferences were held and a storm was raised on the basis of this report.

What happened after 24 hours of it is before all of us, he added.

The broadcasting of a TV channel was shut, he claimed. FIR was lodged against the senior vice president of this channel Ammad Yousuf and he was arrested at 1.30 midnight. FIR were lodged against their chief executive Suleman Iqbal and anchors.

The other persons who are in the field of journalism know it well that this series will not stop here, he underlined. Whosoever raises voice and bring facts before us he will meet this treatment. Every one turn is coming one by one.

PTI challenges ECP decision in prohibited funding case in IHC

ISLAMABAD: PTI has challenged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) decision in prohibited funding case in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

PTI has prayed the IHC to declare the ECP proceedings in prohibited funding case illegal

PTI additional secretary general Umar Ayub has filed petition against ECP decision in IHC. He has taken the plea ECP August 2 decision in prohibited funding case and show cause notice issued by Election commission be declared null and void.

ECP has been made respondent in PTI petition.

Muslim boy brutally beaten up by Bajrang Dal mob in UP

New Delhi: In another incident of hate crime, a Muslim youth, Sahil Siddiqui (17), was beaten up by Bajrang Dal workers in Bulandshahr city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The matter came to light when a video of a mob bashing up a young boy went viral on Twitter.

Sahil’s father said that his son was targeted by the Bajrang Dal on a false claim. He said it all started with the police visiting them at their house asking them to come to the Gulaothi police station as a case was being registered in the name against his son.

Recounting the incident, Rauf said, “When I was heading to the police station with Sahil, some Bajrang Dal workers stopped us on the way on a plea that they wanted to settle the matter outside the police station. When we asked them to first tell us what was the matter, they alleged that Sahil had made a video of a girl and her family has a complaint against him.”

Sahil’s uncle, Salman, who was on the spot told media, “The Bajrang Dal workers surrounded us expecting us to part with some money to cover up the matter, but we refused to pay to oblige saying why we should when we had not committed any crime?”

By then a boy in the crowd, Adesh Chauhan, started beating Sahil. There were more than 20 in number, they all joined in and assaulting Sahil which is evident from the viral video. He was beaten up so badly that he sustained a deep injury in the ribs and fracture in his nose bone. Salman said if they were not on the spot, Sahil would have been killed. Somehow we could manage to rescue Sahil and reach the police station, he added.

A student of class XI, Sahil used to sit on the shop of his father, Rauf, who is a goldsmith. Rauf said his son was not even aware of the said video before, nor any girl’s family complained to him about it. Asked why then his son was beaten up so badly, he said he had no clue. Meanwhile, Sahil’s condition is deteriorating.

According to the news appearing in Navbharat Times on Sunday, Adesh Chauhan reached the police station after trapping a Muslim youth for posting the video of a girl on Instagram in the Gulavathi police station area of Bulandshahr. The Bajrang Dal workers are also accused of beating up the youth. There was a dispute between the police and the Bajrang Dal activist regarding the matter.

After this, four people, including the district president of the Bajrang Dal, were taken into custody by the police. As soon as the information about their arrest was received, the Bajrang Dal workers and officials reached the police station. They held a demonstration outside the police station.

Gulavathi Kotwal Akhilesh Tripathi has been transferred to Sikandarabad for beating the district convener of Bajrang Dal. The SSP had transferred Kotwal Akhilesh Tripathi from Jahangirabad Kotwali to Gulavathi Kotwali two days ago. Kotwal is accused of beating the Chouhan. The SSP has handed over the investigation into the case to ASP Alka Singh. According to the SSP, further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.

ASP Alka, who is investigating the matter, told the media that the investigation is on, something can be said only after the completion of the investigation.
