RAWLAKOT: At least 23 persons died and several were injured when a bus on its way from Rawlakot to Rawalpindi plunged into a deep ravine.

According to police the bus was travelling from Baloch to Rawalpindi and the bus driver lost control while making turn in the area of Manjhari and the bus fell into ravine. 23 persons died on the spot and several sustained injuries. The condition of several injured persons is stated to be critical. They have been shifted to Tehsil Headquarters hospital Baloch.

Police said bus has been completely destroyed and rescue operation is underway.

The identification process of the victims is underway and their family members are being contacted.
