Rawalpindi: Thirty-three Indian-sponsored Khwarij and terrorists have been killed in counterterrorism operations in Balochistan since September 21, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the military's media wing said the operations were conducted against Indian-backed Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan.

On September 24, security forces, continuing Operation Shaban, busted additional terrorist hideouts in Balochistan. Following an intense exchange of fire, five Indian-sponsored Khwarij were killed, bringing the total number of Khwarij eliminated in the operation to 22.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the terrorist hideouts.

The ISPR said the clearance operation would continue until the complete neutralisation of the threat in the area.

In another engagement on September 25, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Nushki district.

During the operation, troops effectively engaged a terrorist hideout. Following an intense exchange of fire, 11 terrorists were killed, the ISPR said.

The military's media wing reaffirmed that the counterterrorism campaign under the vision of 'Azm-e-Istehkam', approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace.

The campaign aims to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country, the statement added.
