Islamabad: Five more Members of National Assembly (MNAs) of Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) have resigned from standing committees of National Assembly (NA).

According to NA sources the toll of those MNAs who have resigned from standing committees has risen to 52. Resignations of 22 MNAs have not been received so far.

The MNAs who have been disqualified being sentenced by the courts are not included in these members who have resigned.

Sources said speaker NA Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has taken no action on these resignations so far.

On the other side government has requested NA speaker to accept the resignations of MNAs from SIC.
