A 5.7 magnitude earthquake jolts Rawalpindi-Islamabad and parts of KP


Islamabad: An earthquake of magnitude 5.7 struck Islamabad, Peshawar and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.



Tremors of earth quake have been felt in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and several areas of KP



According to Seismic Monitoring Centre the quake tremors were felt in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Peshawar, Swat, Nowshera, Shangla, and Buner. Hari Pur, Abbottabad, Batgram.



Seismic Monitoring Centre said intensity of the quake was recorded 5.7 on Richter scale.



Its epicenter was near Afghan -Tajik border. Quake originated at a depth of 170 kilometres.



People came out of their homes and offices reciting Kalima Tayyaba.



However no loss to life or property has been reproted.
