Accused in Bhati Gate tragedy handed over to police on 4 days physical remand

Lahore: Accused persons in Bhati Gate tragedy have been presented in the court and the court has approved their four days physical remand.

Death of mother and daughter had occurred after they had fallen in an open manhole.

Senior judicial magistrate Shafqat Abbas Maghiana heard the case.

Police requested for 14 days physical remand.

The counsel for the accused persons opposed the physical remand.

The court reserved judgment on the plea of physical remand.

The accused including project manager Asghar Ali, Safety incharge Muhammad Hanzala, site incharge Ahmad Nawaz, director company Suleman Yasin and Usman Yasin were presented in the court handcuffed.

During the hearing of the case the counsel for the accused told the court one crore rupees have been paid to affected family. Cheque was given to them on humanitarian grounds. Rs 12 crore are available in the account. The law says diyat amount is payable as per section 322 of the case.

Senior judicial magistrate said section 316 has also been freed in the case.

The counsel for the accused said very tragic incident had taken place. We are ready to extend every help to court and aggrieved family.

Later senior judicial magistrate Shafqat Abbas announced the reserved judgment and handed over the accused to police custody on 4 days physical remand.
