Islamabad: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has expressed keen interest in funding the Naulong Dam Project and the National Flood Telemetry Project in Pakistan.

ADB Director for Central and West Asia, Jiangfeng Zhang, along with a delegation, met WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Muhammad Saeed (Retd) at WAPDA House to discuss financing and implementation details of the two projects. WAPDA's Member (Finance), Member (Water), Member (Power), and other senior officials also attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Zhang emphasized ADB's commitment to deepening collaboration with WAPDA for the execution of climate-resilient projects in Pakistan. He also appreciated WAPDA's technical expertise in water resource management.

Earlier, WAPDA Chairman Lt Gen Saeed thanked ADB for its support in managing Pakistan's water resources. The meeting concluded with an agreement to fast-track the prerequisites for both projects-particularly the National Flood Telemetry Project-to expedite financing arrangements and initiate construction work.

ADB has previously indicated strong interest in supporting both the Naulong Dam and the National Flood Telemetry Project, reflecting its continued partnership with Pakistan on critical water infrastructure initiatives.
