Islamabad: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal Chaudhry has said that the recent statements and political rhetoric of Imran Khan represent a deeply irresponsible and dangerous trend that seeks to undermine Pakistan's state institutions, weaken national cohesion, and erode public trust in the armed forces who defend our borders with courage and sacrifice.
In a statement issued on X on Sunday, Ahsan Iqbal said that political differences are part of any democracy-but when politics crosses the line into anti-state narrative building, deliberate misinformation, and attacks on the integrity of the Pakistan's Armed Forces and its leadership, it threatens the stability, security, and unity of the country. He said that no leader has the right to weaponize divisive rhetoric for personal gain at the cost of Pakistan's national security.
Ahsan Iqbal said that the Pakistan Army is a professional, disciplined, and patriotic institution that has stood as the shield of this nation-from fighting terrorism to defending territorial sovereignty. Attempting to malign the armed forces or create discord between the people and their defenders serves only the agenda of Pakistan's enemies.
Ahsan Iqbal said 'I strongly condemn Imran Khan's continued politics of hate, distortion, and incitement against the state and state institutions. At a time when Pakistan needs unity, economic revival, and collective effort, this politics of chaos is an attack on the country's future. I urge all political actors to act with responsibility, respect constitutional boundaries, and place Pakistan's interests above personal ambition. The nation will not allow any individual to weaken the foundations of the State or undermine the institutions that ensure our security and stability'.
He said that Pakistan's future lies in constructive politics-not destructive narratives and narcissistic politics.
