Bagh: Azad Kashmir Election Tribunal while declaring the election held in constituency LA-16 (Sharqi Bagh) null and void has disqualified Akbar Khan, minister of Azad Kashmir government.

The tribunal has ordered re-polling in the constituency.

Hafiz Muhammad Akram judge of election tribunal announced the decision on Tuesday.

This decision was announced on the election petition filed by PPP leader Qamar ul Zaman whereby success of Akbar Khan was challenged.

The court maintained in its decision the election held in LA-16 were not neutral and transparent and nor the legal norms were met.

According to decision full justification was there to nullify the election.

Due to decision Akbar Khan has not only lost his seat but also he has been declared disqualified as minister.
