Lahore: Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) jointly organized three-day long training workshop for the teachers of the Alkhidmat Child Protection centers. Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, National Director Education Jibran Baloch, trainer Maria Riaz, Trainer Muhammad Illyas, teachers of Alkhidmat protection centers from Central Punjab, South Punjab and Lahore attended the training workshop.On the occasion Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that teachers have basic role in promotion of education. He said that increasing the capabilities of teachers, equipping with latest methods and instead of traditional teaching methods, adopting new and creative methods is need of the hour. He said that while keeping in mind these needs, Alkhidamt Foundation organized this workshop with JIKA Japan's cooperation. He said that so far in Pakistan 26 million children are out schools. He said that in this situation Alkhidmat Foundation is especially t argeting those children who are working in hotels, workshops and earn livelihood for their families from garbage, adding that for these children Alkhidmat Foundation has established 64 Child Protection Centers in whole country.Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that in these schools 2,254 children are studying and out of them 416 have formally taken admission in schools. He said that with the cooperation of Pakistani Government and JIKA, Alkhidmat Foundation has gained access to Non-formal Education Information System, which has data of 114 institutions and now the record of all Child Protection Centers of Alkhidmat Foundation and its students has been included in this system.
