Alkhidmat sets up relief camps in 13 areas of Karachi amid heatwave concerns

Karachi: In view of the intense heat and possible heatwave threats in Karachi, Alkhidmat Karachi has established 'Relief Camps' in 13 areas across the city. These heatwave relief camps have been set up in North Karachi, New Karachi, Nazimabad Gol Market, Lyari, Model Colony, Lasbela, Liaquatabad, New M.A. Jinnah Road, Allahwala Town, Landhi, Korangi, and Orangi.

At these camps, citizens are being provided with drinking water and cold beverages, while awareness regarding protection from heatwave conditions is also being given. Alkhidmat volunteers stationed at the camps are on alert to provide first aid and immediate assistance to affected individuals.

Meanwhile, Executive Director Alkhidmat Karachi, Rashid Qureshi said that every year Karachi's residents face the threat of heatwaves during the summer season, and Alkhidmat regularly establishes camps across the city to help protect citizens from extreme weather conditions. He said that with the onset of summer and rising temperatures, Alkhidmat decided to establish heatwave relief camps in different parts of the city where volunteers are actively present and prepared to assist and provide relief to the public.

Rashid Qureshi advised citizens to take precautionary measures while going outdoors during extreme heat, including carrying water bottles, covering their heads, and avoiding unnecessary movement during peak heat hours. He added that Alkhidmat will continue to stand by the citizens in every difficult situation.
