Karachi: Estate Department has filed reply in Sindh High Court (SHC) on the petition for provision of government residence to former president Dr Arif Alvi.
Estate department in the reply filed in SHC said bungalow was allotted to customs officer in Bath Island being officer of federal government. The legal proceedings is underway regarding allotment of bungalow. The competent authority is unable to take any step due to court's stay order.
Estate department said in reply that proceedings will be initiated whatever decision is made by the court.
Barrister Ali Tahir counsel for the petitioner took the plea Dr Arif Alvi being former president is entitled to government residence. Bungalow allotted to former president in Bath Island be got vacated and its possession be given to Arif Alvi.
The court while giving time to file reply to reply adjourned further hearing of the case for indefinite period .
