Any bid challenging the writ of the state will be countered forcefully as per law: Corps Commanders’ Conference

Rawalpindi: Top leadership of Pakistan army has made it clear that terrorism, violent chaos and any bid to challenge the writ of the state will be countered forcefully as per law for the sake of security, sovereignty and protection of internal stability. .

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS and CDF) of Pakistan, chaired the 277th Corps Commanders' Conference at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The conference opened with Fateha for the martyrs of the Armed Forces, law enforcement agencies and civil society. Participants paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Pakistan and acknowledged their services to the country.

The forum welcomed the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement involving Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye.

The forum described it vital for promotion of long standing strategic relations and joint defence cooperation.

Condemning Houthi attacks against Saudi Arabia in strongest terms the participants expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia and reiterated Pakistan's commitment to safeguarding the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain, the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah.

It was made clear with reference to terrorism emanating from Afghanistan that it was Pakistan's right to defend itself against such terrorists threats.

Participants appreciated the sustained intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations conducted by law enforcement agencies. However, the forum stressed that operational measures must be complemented by non-kinetic efforts to address the factors contributing to militancy and insecurity.

On the Kashmir issue, the military leadership reiterated Pakistan's stance on resolution of Kashmir issue The participants said Kashmir issue be resolved as per relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people

Field Marshal Asim Munir commended military formations for their operational preparedness and professionalism. He directed commanders to maintain momentum in intelligence-based operations and continue strengthening the Armed Forces' combat capabilities.

The directions included greater absorption of modern technology, enhanced training and improved integration across multiple operational domains. The emphasis on multi-domain integration highlighted the need to develop coordinated capabilities for responding to evolving security challenges.

Field Marshal reiterated the resolve that armed forces of Pakistan are fully prepared for safeguarding Pakistan's sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security with the unwavering support of nation.
