Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has strongly condemned the intensifying repression by Indian forces against the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), who continue to peacefully demand their UN-mandated right to self-determination.

APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas said that nearly one million Indian troops, operating under draconian laws, have made daily life a perpetual nightmare for Kashmiris. He emphasized that atrocities intensified sharply following the Modi-led BJP government's illegal and unilateral revocation of Articles 370 and 35-A on 5 August 2019-a move aimed at disempowering, dispossessing, and silencing the Kashmiri people.

Minhas reaffirmed that Kashmir remains a longstanding political and humanitarian dispute requiring urgent international attention. He lauded Pakistan's consistent support for the Kashmiri cause and criticized India's 'stubbornness and lack of political will' as major barriers to resolution. He urged the international community, human rights defenders, and global institutions to pressure India to return to negotiations for a just and peaceful settlement in line with UN resolutions.
