LAHORE: Election Tribunal (ET) of Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered Election Commission (EC) to present record of form 45 on the appeal filed against the success of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz in general election.Justice Anwar Hussain of ET took up for hearing appeal plea filed by Mehr Sharafat, rival candidate to Maryam Nawaz from PP-159.The petitioner took the plea the notification of success of Maryam Nawaz from PPP 159 Lahore has been issued against the facts. It should be suspended.The counsels for CM Punjab requested that election appeal be declared non- maintainable.The counsels for Maryam Nawaz took the plea the election appeal is non maintainable. No trial can be conducted in respect of this appeal as per law.During the hearing of the case Justice Anwar Hussain remarked tribunal requires answers to some questions. Note them. How many total polling stations are in PP-159.The counsel for EC told that number of registered polling stations in polling scheme stands at 102.T he ET inquired the signatures of presiding officer will be there on form 45 . The candidates of other constituencies will have the same form. Then why forms 45 were not uploaded on website. EC did not provide the record of electoral constituency of Maryam Nawaz despite tribunal directives.On the questions of Justice Anwar Hussain the counsel for EC sought time for presenting original record of form 45.The ET accepted plea of counsel for EC.The hearing of appeal plea was adjourned till last week of July.
