Islamabad: Appeal pleas filed against disqualification of PTI leaders Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz in the Supreme Court (SC) have been withdrawn by chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.

During the hearing of the case Barrister Gohar told the court appeal plea filed by Omar Ayub against his disqualification is being withdrawn under his directives because he himself is not participating in the by election and his wife will participate in the election.

Like wise the appeal plea against removing Shibli Faraz from the position of leader of the opposition in the Senate was withdrawn .

However Barrister Gohar requested the court to issue notice on the appeal against the disqualification of Shibli Faraz.

The court while accepting the plea issued notice to election commission for October 29.

The court remarked election on vacant seat of Shibli Faraz has to take place on October 30. Therefore, the case will be fixed on October 29.

During the hearing of the case the court inquired have the accused surrendered.

Barrister Gohar told the court Omar Ayub and Shibli Faraz have not surrendered so far.

Barrister Gohar further told the court the appeal plea against de-notification of opposition leader in national assembly is also being withdrawn as the notification for making Mehmood Khan Achakzai as leader of the opposition in national assembly has already been issued.

Justice Amin ud Din Khan while moving to barrister Gohar said did Omar Ayub surrender after protective bail.

Barrister Gohar told the court he did not surrender. The question is of civil nature and not of criminal nature. We want to run the case to the extent of Shibli Faraz.

Justice Shakeel Ahmad inquired when the by election on Senate will take place.

Barrister Gohar told the court by polls will be held on October 30.

Justice Shakeel Ahmad remarked very short time has been given for by polls.

The head of Supreme Court constitutional bench remarked OK we are fixing case for October 29.
