Islamabad: On the 78th anniversary of India's military invasion of Jammu and Kashmir on 27 October 1947, Mushaal Hussein Mullick has declared this day as a global reminder of unresolved injustice and ongoing occupation - warning that silence is no longer an option for the international community.
Every year, 27 October is observed as 'Black Day' across Pakistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the Kashmiri diaspora in the UK, Europe, Gulf countries, North America, and by global human rights networks - with protests, seminars, flag marches, black armbands, and solidarity vigils to reject India's illegal occupation and reaffirm the Kashmiri right to self-determination.
This day is not symbolic - it is a living indictment of global double standards.
'Kashmir remains the most militarized zone on earth - over 900,000 Indian troops deployed to suppress an entire nation demanding nothing more than their UN-promised right to self-determination,' said Mushaal.
She strongly condemned India's ongoing crackdown on Kashmiri political leadership, accusing New Delhi of systematically attempting to eliminate voices for peaceful resolution - including her husband, Muhammad Yasin Malik, a globally-recognized peace negotiator who engaged with seven Indian Prime Ministers.
'10 November 2025 is not just a court date - it is a defining test of international justice. If Yasin Malik is silenced, the message to the world will be clear: peaceful resistance has no space in today's global order.'
Mushaal warned that India is pushing the region toward dangerous instability. 'If Yasin Malik - a man who rejected violence his entire life - is politically executed or left to die in custody, it will not be a legal decision, it will be a geopolitical explosion.'
She called upon the United Nations, world powers including the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, and the Islamic world, to urgently intervene to prevent another irreversible tragedy on 10 November.
Resolving Kashmir is not a matter of choice - it is a legal obligation under binding United Nations Security Council resolutions. The people of Jammu and Kashmir must be granted their legitimate and peaceful right to a UN-supervised plebiscite - the only just, lawful and lasting road to peace in South Asia.
