Islamabad: Pakistan has condemned in the strongest terms the interception of Global Sumud Flotilla by Israel and the detention of human rights workers on board flotilla

Foreign Office (FO) has issued a statement in this regard.

The statement said this act on the part of Israel is blatant violation of international laws, human rights and global conscience. Its consequences can be dire.

According to FO, the Global Sumud Flotilla comprised of over 40 civilian vessels and was carrying about 500 international activists. They were carrying humanitarian assistance to the besieged people of Gaza.

The spokesperson made it clear this Israeli act is not only egregious violation of human rights but also it is imperiling the lives of innocent people.

over 20 lac Palestinians are being affected due to persistent aggression of Israel and illegal blockade of Gaza.

Pakistan has demanded of UN and international community to hold Israel accountable for its repeated illegal acts besides ensuring unconditional release of all humanitarian workers and activists on board on Flotilla.

Reiterating Pakistan unwavering support and complete solidarity with people of Palestine FO said Pakistan supports establishment of an independent and sovereign state of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
