Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has grounded bullet proof BMW vehicle allotted to him for saving in national kitty as part of austerity drive.

Speaker NA came to NA in his old corolla car Wednesday.

According to assembly sources speaker returned the vehicles given to him for protocol and security.

Speaker came to NA in ordinary car. Parliament security staff stopped speaker vehicle.

Ayyaz Sadiq lowered vehicle pane saying my name is Ayyaz Sadiq. I am speaker NA.

Sources said parliament security staff and police became surprised over seeing Ayyaz Sadiq sitting in an ordinary car.

NA security authorities requested him to keep with him a security vehicle but speaker refused to do so saying he will now use small vehicle.

Speaker NA got grounded 2 bullet proof vehicles as well.

Under austerity drive, speaker NA wants saving more than one billion rupees.
