Canberra: Australian opening batsman of Pakistani origin Usman Khawaja has announced to build mosque in his father's name in Australia.

In a statement Usman Khawaja said 'I had made a promise to my Lord that when I Retire from cricket, I will build a mosque in Australia in my father's name'.

Usman Khawaja said that now the time has come. He clearly remembers the days when his father used to work at a coffee shop, and after returning home at Asr time, he would take him for cricket practice. His father always had faith in him and used to say, 'We may be Pakistanis, but one day you will definitely play for Australia.' Then, with Allah's help, one day I was selected for the Australian team, which is a very difficult task. Making a place in the Australian team is only possible with Allah's help and the prayers of my parents. My mother used to wake up at night for prayers, and her first dua was always for my success.

Usman Khawaja said 'now I have purchased the land, and once the paperwork is completed this month, construction of the mosque will begin.

It is worth mentioning here that Usman Khawaja is playing the final Test match of his career against England in Sydney.
