Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has issued notice to prosecutor and other respondents on bail pleas of Mahrang Baloch, Beebow and Beberg Baloch.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar took up the case for hearing.
During the hearing of the case Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired have separate FIRs been registered against the three accused.
Counsel Jibran Nasir told the court separate FIRs have been registered each against his three clients. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar further inquired what is the matter and trial has reached where.
The counsel told the court statements of 2 among 6 witnesses have been recorded in Mahrang Baloch case. All the clauses included in FIR are bailable. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked " read the FIR first. How these clauses are bailable.
The counsel said the clauses wherein punishment term is 3 years or less are considered bailable as per law. Punishment in all the clauses against Mahrang Baloch is less than 3 years.
The court issued notice to prosecutor and other respondents after hearing the arguments and adjourned hearing of the case for indefinite period.
