Bajwa’s tax data leak case: Court approves 2-day remand of 3 accused

Islamabad: Shahzad Niaz, Arshad Ali and Adeel Ashraf accused in the case of former Army Chief General (Retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa's alleged tax data leak from Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) were produced in the court of Special Magistrate Umar Shabir.

The court approved the two-day physical remand of the three accused.

The lawyers of the accused and the investigating officer appeared in the court along with the records.

On behalf of the investigating officer, a five-day physical remand of the three accused was requested.

The investigating officer said that the accused Shehzad Niaz sold the data to other two co-accused for money, and the co-accused sold the FBR record to the journalist.

The court approved the two-day physical remand of the three accused and handed them over to the FIA.
