Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan visited Baldia and Orangi towns to address electioneering and held the Pakistan People Party responsible for woes of the local residents. The JI leader addressed a big gathering in UC 8 of Baldia Town and later a rally at UC 1 of Orangi Town as the by-election date was approaching.Monem Zafar Khan was warmly welcomed by the youth at 24 Market and was showered with rose petals. He also met traders of 24 Market.Speaking on the occasion, Monem Zafar Khan said that despite Baldia Town being close to Hub Dam, it remains deprived of water. The broken roads and collapsed sewerage system are living proof of PPP's incompetence, he said, adding, 'Baldia Town has become ruins. PPP's performance is only corruption. They know how to loot but don't know how to serve the people.'Talking about the incumbent mayor Murtaza Wahab, he remarked, 'He roams around showing details of funds given to JI's towns, but why doesn't he come to Baldia Town and present its accounts and his own performance in a press conference? The people of Karachi are fed up with PPP's occupation.'He praised Engineer Yasir Hayat -- the JI candidate for the by election -- as an educated young leader who not only understands the area's problems but also has the ability to solve them.'Whenever JI was given powers in Baldia, we delivered. Our elders served this town well, and Yasir Hayat will continue that tradition of service,' he added.Addressing a large election rally in Orangi Town UC-1, Monem Zafar Khan said that just like the rest of Karachi, Orangi Town was also under the control of imposed chairmen, leaving the public trapped in a swamp of problems. He urged the people of Orangi to use their vote to liberate themselves from feudal lords and landlords by electing Jamaat-e-Islami's candidates. He also called upon the Election Commission and its staff to uphold the sanctity of votes and ensure the success of true representatives.
