Bilawal Bhutto, Maulana Fazlur Rehman meet to discuss GB elections, legislation

Islamabad: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari met Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence for an important meeting, where both leaders discussed Gilgit-Baltistan elections, Kashmir, and key legislative matters.

The meeting, which lasted nearly one and a half hours, was also attended by Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Nayer Bukhari, Chaudhry Yasin, and Asad Mahmood along with other senior leaders.

Sources said both sides exchanged views on upcoming elections in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir and agreed to continue consultations on the matter.

Legislative issues were also discussed, with the Pakistan Peoples Party expressing concerns over what it termed rushed lawmaking by the government. Maulana Fazlur Rehman emphasized that hasty legislation could undermine the credibility of Parliament.

Both leaders acknowledged their long-standing political relationship and agreed to maintain ongoing consultations, with a possibility of consensus on several issues.
