Govt committed to provide every possible facility to global investors in digital operators industry: PM

Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said government is committed to provide every possible facility to investors in Digital Operators Industry.

"The recent successful auction of 5G spectrum bears clear evidence of positive direction of government for innovation and development in this sector, he said this while talking to the CEO of global digital operator VEON Group, Kaan Terzioglu in Islamabad

The PM held an important meeting with CEO of global digital operator VEON Group, Kaan Terzioglu for promotion of digital economy and under the efforts for enhancing international investment in telecom sector.

PM stressed that Pakistan is pursuing comprehensive strategy for promoting innovation in information technology sector and acquisition of international investment.

The Prime Minister said Pakistan aims to ensure transparency while adopting digitalization in the economic sector.

He said all relevant departments are working in coordination to provide the people with high quality internet services after the auction of 5G spectrum to telecom operators.

Shehbaz Sharif noted that the interest of Pakistan's youth in telecom and information technology is attracting international investors.

He held federal government is facilitating the investors by ensuring coordination among different institutions.

He said Youth population of Pakistan can play a key role in the development of economy through information technology and digital platforms.

Kaan Terzioglu praised the government's initiatives aimed at achieving a cashless economy and full digitalization of the economy.

Such steps are highly appreciable and these make Pakistan an attractive market for global investors.

He expressed his company's resolve to further enhance investment in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by finance minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, IT Minister Shizza Fatima Khawaja. minister for economic affairs, Ahad Khan Cheema, CEO JAZZ Amir Ibrahim and senior government officials.
