Bilawal Bhutto, Rana Sana Ullah appointed members of JCP

Islamabad: Bilawal Bhutto and Rana Sana Ullah have been made members of Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP). As per media report earlier Farooq H Naik of PPP and Aftab Sheikh from PML-N had resigned and now Bilawal Bhutto and Rana Sana Ullah have become members in their place.

A notification for the appointments was issued on Friday by the JCP with the approval of Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi, who is also the body's chairperson.

The appointments have been made under Article 175A(2)(vii) of the Constitution of Pakistan.Under this clause, the Judicial Commission of Pakistan includes one member from the National Assembly and one from the Senate, nominated by the respective Leaders of the House. Their names were formally recommended under this constitutional provision and subsequently approved by the Chairman of the Commission.
