Islamabad: Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and UNICEF have agreed to further strengthen their collaboration to address health and nutrition challenges among women and children in Pakistan.This commitment was reaffirmed during a meeting between BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid and Ms. Pernille Ironside, the newly appointed UNICEF Representative in Pakistan, at BISP Headquarters on Tuesday.UNICEF is a key partner of BISP in implementing the flagship Benazir Nashonuma Programme, which addresses malnutrition among women and children across the country. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding joint efforts under the programme.Senator Rubina Khalid highlighted the urgent need to increase awareness about the Nashonuma Programme so that more vulnerable families can benefit. She stressed that stronger cooperation between BISP and UNICEF is vital to tackling health and nutrition challenges and ensuring the well-being of communities.Pernille Ironside commended BISP's role in supporting marginalized families and expressed UNICEF's firm commitment to work closely with BISP on future initiatives.Also present at the meeting were Dr. Asim Ijaz, Director General NSER/CCT, and Sadaf Zulfiqar, Chief Social Policy, UNICEF.
