Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq has called important meeting of parliamentary leaders of all political parties on June 5 for consultation in connection with schedule of budget session and parliamentary affairs.

Government and opposition representatives will give final shape to parliamentary strategy and schedule of the session for approval of the budget for the next fiscal year 2026-27.

According to sources meeting will take place in speaker lounge parliament house at 4 p.m on June 5. Invitation has been extended to representatives of all parliamentary parties including PTI.

Approval will be accorded to regular schedule of NA budget session in the meeting .

Sources said the federal budget for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented at 5 p.m on June 5 in NA.

Finance Minister (FM) Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the budget in NA. The outlines of economic targets, revenue, development expenses and fiscal policies of the next financial year will be portrayed in the budget.

According to parliamentary sources the general debate on budget will start on June 8. Opposition leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai will inaugurate it. Debate on budget will continue for one week. Opposition and government will present their opinion and proposals in the debate.

On the conclusion of debate NA will accord approval to mandatory expenses, monetary demands of different ministries and other financial proposals.

Finance bill -2026 in connection with change in taxes and duties will be presented in the house for yes nod.

Sources said government has evolved strategy for completion of all parliamentary proceedings related to budget till the last week of June and seeking approval of budget ahead of commencement of new financial year.
