Karachi: Caritas Pakistan Karachi under their Empowering Karachi's Future: Education Against Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for School Children' Project conducted First Aid and CPR Trainings in 09 Schools of Catholic Board of Education.The aimed of the First Aid and CPR training to equipping Students and Teachers with essential life-saving skills to effectively respond to disasters and emergencies to saving lives.The initiative focused on practical techniques in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), enabling participants to act swiftly and efficiently in the face of medical emergencies and natural or man-made disasters.The program is part of Caritas Pakistan Karachi's broader commitment to disaster preparedness and community resilience, especially in urban settings like Karachi that are vulnerable to a range of emergency scenarios.The Facilitator / Trainer said that 'Our goal is to build resilience within school communities by empowering students and teachers with the kn owledge and skills they need to save lives and act confidently in crisis situations.'.The sessions included hands-on demonstrations, awareness lectures, Presentation and interactive drills led by certified trainers. Participants were taught how to handle injuries, perform CPR, manage shock, and respond to various emergency situations until professional medical help arrives.The positive response from both students and educators highlights the importance and impact of such initiatives, and Caritas Pakistan Karachi aims to continue expanding this training to more schools in the future.The training programs were carried out in 09 different schools across in Karachi, i.e. St. Monica's Secondary School, St. Francis's Secondary School, St Mary Primary school, Maqqadsa Mariam School, St. Bernadette Secondary School, St. Gerald School, St. Vincent De Paul School, Sacred Heart Secondary School, St. John's Primary School with collaboration and support of Catholic Board of Education (CBE).
