Islamabad: The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting organized a ceremony to commemorate 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China in Islamabad.
Minister for Planning and Development, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Secretary Information Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of China Shi Yuanqiang and a large number of people attended the ceremony.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said Pak-China relationship has scaled new heights of cooperation from establishment of the diplomatic ties to the forging of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Turning to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Minister said CPEC is not merely a collection of roads, energy plants or industrial zones, but it is a bridge of development, a gateway to shared prosperity and the most concrete economic manifestation of our time-tested brotherhood.
Ahsan Iqbal said Pak-China friendship is described as higher than the Himalayas, deeper than the sea, sweater than the honey and stronger than the steel. But now, we have a new dimension that it is even higher than the skies because 2026 will take Pakistan's first astronaut into the space on a Chinese space mission. In addition, Pakistani astronaut will be the first foreign astronaut to enter into Chinese space center.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar said Pak-China friendship has been passed on to us through our generations and we hold it very dear, close to our heart. He said we share mountains, rivers and unbreakable bond.
In his remarks, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of China Shi Yuanqiang said this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan. He said it carried the profound friendship between people of the two countries, who have been supporting each other for the past seventy five years.
He said the 75th anniversary signifies that China and Pakistan Strategic Cooperative Partnership has entered a new stage of development.
The Chinese Deputy Head of Mission extended his warm congratulations to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on successful holding of this august event.
In his remarks, Secretary Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil said the celebration is not merely a friendship between the two nations, but of the stories and traditions that continue to strengthen this enduring partnership.
He said Pakistan and China have long stood together as trusted friends and steadfast partners. He said beyond diplomacy, trade and strategic cooperation, the warmth of people to people connection is also equally important.
The Secretary Information said as we commemorate 75 years of Pakistan and China diplomatic relations, this gathering serves as a reminder that enduring friendships are built not only in conferences, and corridors of policies, but in moments of celebrations.
He also extended his sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all participating institutions, artists, organizers and distinguished guests for making the event remarkable.
On the occasion, a documentary depicting 75 years of Pakistan China relations screened, while a cake was also cut to mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Pakistan China diplomatic relations.
