Islamabad: A dignified ceremony was held at Burj Al Zaki Guest House to honour the newly appointed vice chancellors of public and private universities across Pakistan. The event was jointly organized by the Pakistan Education Portal and the Inter-University Consortium for Promotion of Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities (IUCPSS).
Speaking on the occasion, Almas Ayub Sabir, Founding Chairman of the Pakistan Education Portal, said the portal aims to project Pakistan and its universities globally by highlighting their achievements and academic offerings.
Muhammad Murtaza Noor, Executive Director of the Pakistan Education Portal and National Coordinator of the IUCPSS, elaborated on the objectives of the initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening academic collaboration and visibility among higher education institutions.
The ceremony was attended by vice chancellors and academic leaders from across the country, including Usman Ghani, Director, Institute of Management Sciences Peshawar; Prof. Dr. Abdul Basit, President of the Association of Private Sector Universities Pakistan (Federal Chapter) and President of Preston University; Prof. Dr. Hazirullah, Vice Chancellor, University of Chitral; Dr. Junaid, Vice Chancellor, Health Services Academy; Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mujtaba Shah, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Hazara University; and Prof. Dr. Zafar Iqbal, Vice Chancellor, Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan.
Other distinguished participants included Prof. Dr. Mazhar Ayaz, Vice Chancellor, Cholistan University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Bahawalpur; Prof. Dr. Yousuf Khushk, Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur; Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan; Prof. Dr. Jehanzeb Khan, Vice Chancellor, University of Science and Technology, Bannu; Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor, Women University Bagh; and Prof. Dr. Aftab Maroof, Rector, FAST-National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences.
Representatives from Quaid-i-Azam University were also in attendance.
The event also featured Air Marshal (Retd.) Abdul Majeed Khan, Vice Chancellor, Air University; Dr. Mohammad Mujahid, Rector, Pak-Austria Fachhochschule Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology; and Prof. Dr. Saeed Badshah, Vice Chancellor, University of Technology, Nowshera.
Participants appreciated the initiative, describing the Pakistan Education Portal as a significant milestone in Pakistan's higher education landscape. They said the platform would help facilitate international students' access to Pakistani universities and promote academic exchange at the global level.
