Chairman Senate Gilani Meets Deputy Speaker of Georgian Parliament in Baku

Islamabad: Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, held a bilateral meeting with Nino Tsilosani, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, on the sidelines of the International Parliamentary Conference (IPC) in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing inter-parliamentary cooperation, and exploring new avenues for partnership between Pakistan and Georgia.

Chairman Senate Gilani reaffirmed Pakistan's commitment to further deepen friendly relations with Georgia, emphasizing shared aspirations for peace, trust, and development. He highlighted the importance of cooperation in trade, education, culture, and parliamentary engagement, stressing the need to promote people-to-people contact and economic connectivity.

Mr. Gilani underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and collaboration, proposing enhanced interaction between parliamentary friendship groups and standing committees to share best practices and address common regional and global challenges.

He also invited the Georgian Speaker to attend the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers' Conference (ISC) being hosted by the Senate of Pakistan in Islamabad from 10-12 November 2025, describing it as a vital platform for dialogue on peace, development, and inter-parliamentary collaboration.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continue working closely to enhance bilateral cooperation and support each other at regional and international forums.
