Ishaq Dar, Canadian FM Anita Anand MP reaffirm their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a call from Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand MP.

The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral trade and investment, including sectors such as agriculture and mines and minerals, and collaboration under the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement (FIPPA). FM Anita Anand MP thanked Ishaq Dar for facilitating market access for Canadian canola exports to Pakistan.

Both leaders appreciated recent constructive engagements, reaffirmed their commitment to advancing mutually beneficial economic cooperation, and agreed to remain in close contact.

Meanwhile in a statement issued on X, Anita Anand wrote 'I have just concluded a call with my counterpart in Pakistan, Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar. We discussed a range of issues including opening up Pakistan to imports of Canadian canola, the Foreign Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement model and bilateral economic engagement. Thank you Minister for the productive meetings over the past few months in Kuala Lampur and New York and the call today as well'.
