Change of religion, marriage of free will: SC orders for presenting girl under stringent security on Aug 7

Karachi: Supreme Court (SC) Karachi registry has ordered to present the girl before it under stringent security on August 7 in change of religion and marriage of free will case.

The girl is resident of Defence Phase-5 Karachi.

SC bench under Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi heard the case Monday.

The counsel for petitioner took the plea 2 daughters of the petitioner went missing in 2021. He had got registered case of disappearance of his daughters. He had resorted to Sindh High Court in the matter of disappearance of his daughters.

The counsel said police filed challan of C class in the matter of disappearance of the daughters.

CJP remarked as per record girl had got married with her free will.

The counsel for the petitioner took the plea police did not inform father about contact with girl and marriage of his daughter.

The CJP remarked we summon the girl in court. If the marriage is forced then we will initiate proceedings.

The counsel for the petitioner told the court police presented Nikah Nama in court and told daughter has changed her religion and got married of her free will.
