ISLAMABAD : Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Monday while reacting to Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa’s recent contact with the US President Joe Biden administration regarding the Pak-IMF agreement said that all politicians are responsible for current political turmoil, and fault of politicians pushed the Army chief to intervene in economic affairs.

Addressing a press conference flanked by Federal Minister for National Food Security and Pakstan Mulim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Secretary General Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema and other provincial presidents of party, Chaudhry Shujaat said that the country has been suffering for a year. All the politicians are responsible for the deterioration of the country’s economy, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister Imran Khan is talking against the institutions.

“The head of Muslim League-Q said that why did the army chief have to intervene? It is the fault of the politicians that pushed the army chief to intervene in economic affairs,” he said.

Commenting on the developments that took place in Punjab, Chaudhry Shujaat said “Everything is fine and everything will remain fine.” “Speaking truth has become a sin these days,” Chaudhry Shujaat said, adding that the public, as well as the politicians, hurled filthy abuses at him and his sons.

Regarding his sons and their involvement in political matters, the PML-Q president — who was recently removed from his party position following the letter controversy during the CM’s election — said “Attempts are being made to defame my sons, they have taken all decisions after consulting me and I am proud of them.” He further added that those who levelled allegations against him and his sons have “no standing.”

Regarding Chief Minister Pervez Elahi and his support for the PTI, Chaudhry Shujaat urged him [Elahi] to act wisely and stop making a mockery of the family. “I invite him to return to his residence,” he said, stressing that they [PTI] conspired to divide the party as well as the family.

On the occasion Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema said that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has made effort of dividing the party and family, adding that Parvez Elahi should mend his way and should not make fun of his home and family. He said that Parvez Elahi is chief minister Punjab and we are part of the federal government so there is no restriction in our reunion so we should become united. He said that former president Asif Ali Zardari is man of commitment and whatever promise he made fulfills it. He said that Imran Khan is incompetent, ineligible and corrupt person. He said that almost impossible to remove Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain from party presidentship, adding that even Parvez Elahi did not knew the names of the PML-Q CEC members.

Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema said that Chaudhry Parvez Elahi is champion of two number and 20 number proceedings. He said that the Supreme Court of Pakistan has not issued detailed judgment against the ruling of deputy speaker Punjab Assembly, adding that our legal team is working and we will approach the Election Commission of Pakistan after the issuance of the detailed judgment of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Replying the question, Chaudhry Tariq Bashir Cheema said that it is not necessary that someone visit the house of other person for hatching conspiracy against third person. He said that Parvez Elahi was used to visit the home of former president Asif Ali Zardari when the former was going to become the deputy prime minister during PPP government.

Replying a question, Tariq Bashir Cheema said that it is his desire that family of Chaudhry Shujaat and Parvez Elahi should reunite today, adding that out character proves that we did not make lead in anything. He said that the people of Pakistan respect Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain as his nobility and gracefulness is beyond doubt.

Tariq Bashir Cheema said that we are part of the coalition government with clear understanding and we have not come in the government to just pass the time, adding that we are standing with the government till today. He said that PML-Q is intact and will remain intact. Tariq Bashir Cheema said that we are not with Imran Khan today or tomorrow.

Replying a question, Chaudhry Shujaat said that from where PML-Q has broken, whether, leg or arm of the party has been broken.
