Chilas Zero Point Reopened for Traffic, Thousands of Travellers Resume Journey

Chilas: Authorities reopened the Zero Point blockade in Chilas on Sunday to facilitate stranded passengers and tourists, restoring traffic flow on the route after a temporary disruption caused by an ongoing protest.

According to local sources, the decision was taken to ease difficulties faced by thousands of travellers and tourists who had been unable to continue their journeys due to road closures.

Following the reopening of Zero Point, large numbers of passengers and tourists resumed travel towards their respective destinations.

Traffic movement gradually returned to normal, although long queues of vehicles were reported on the route as authorities worked to clear the backlog created by the blockade.

Meanwhile, leaders of the Pakistan Peoples Party announced that their protest sit-in would resume after a two-hour break, indicating that demonstrations would continue despite the temporary restoration of traffic.

The announcement suggests that political tensions in the area remain unresolved, with the possibility of further disruptions if negotiations fail to produce a breakthrough.

Local residents and travellers have urged authorities and political stakeholders to ensure that public inconvenience is minimized and that transportation routes remain open.
