Islamabad: China and Pakistan jointly presented a five-point initiative aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Gulf and Middle East region during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar in Beijing.
The proposal calls for an immediate ceasefire, early resumption of peace talks, protection of civilians and infrastructure, security of shipping routes including the Strait of Hormuz, and adherence to the UN Charter as the foundation for a lasting peace framework.
Both sides emphasized that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable path forward and urged all parties to avoid further escalation and attacks on civilian and energy infrastructure.
