Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has remarked the ChIng Chi rickshaws factories be sealed.
The court further remarked stopping Ching Chi rickshaws is must. Otherwise they will spread in the entire city. Ching Chi rickshaw factories be sealed . Give time of three months to Ching Chi rickshaw factories for regulation.
CTO Lahore told the court summary has been sent for imposing ban on Ching Chi rickshaws. Giving permission to Ching Chi rickshaws and motorcycle rickshaws is an offence. 10 people died in Ching Chi rickshaw accident.
The court remarked the problem be addressed within three months. Ching Chi rickshaws factories cannot be allowed. It is necessary to control them. The report regarding sending the summary to chief minister in this regard be presented in the court on next hearing.
The petitions filed by Haroon Farooq and others regarding eradication of smog and environmental pollution `came up for hearing before justice Shahid Karim of LHC Friday.
The officers of environment protection department and other departments appeared in the court.
During the hearing justice Shahid Karim inquired about the demonstrators sitting on Mall road that what is issue of demonstrators.
The court remarked " you should see their issue and arrangements for them be made to sit some other place.
Counsel for the Punjab government told the court negotiations are underway with the demonstrators.
The court remarked traffic problems have increased due to them. On the other side traffic was closed due to PSL. Impression be not given to world there are security issues here.
The court further remarked this all is happening since 10 years. But security has not been improved. Give security to players and don't close the entire city. The impression goes to the world due to closure of the entire city that country is unsafe.
The court remarked pollution enhances manifold due to blocking of traffic for 10 minutes. Heat wave will surge in coming days. However this situation be improved.
CTO Lahore told the court we did not close the roads on important events before this. No good impression goes to foreigners on such security. In such security situation foreigners express thanks on their return.
CTO further told the court the proposal in regard to allowances for wardens has been sent. Steps are being taken to initiate action against beggars. Digital tickets in regard to fine are being issued.
The court remarked legislation is must for all of these.
The court stopped environment from using new vehicles unjustly.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked these new vehicles should be used in operations against environmental violations.
