Islamabad: Council for Islamic Ideology (CII) while expressing grave concern over recent decision of Islamabad High Court (IHC) with reference to distribution of assets among the married persons has recommended to write letter to Chief Justice (CJ) Islamabad High Court (IHC) and speaker National Assembly (NA).
CII met under its chairman Allama Dr Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi here Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting Allama Raghib Hussain Naeemi said Pakistan started operation Bunyan al Marsoos in reply to Indian aggression. Almighty Allah bestowed historical victory upon armed forces.
CII pays tribute to armed forces particularly Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on completion of one year of Marka-e-Haq.
The IHC decision regarding matrimonial assets was reviewed in details in the meeting. This matter had earlier came under consideration of CII.
Council had sent clear recommendations to Senate standing committee in the light of orders of Shariah. According to it the concept of matrimonial assets does not conform to norms of Shariah.
The Senate standing committee had rejected the respective bill on the basis of these recommendations.
The council declared it regrettable that issuing directives by IHC to government for legislation despite the rejection of matter by legislature is not right behavior.
Therefore, council has decided to write letters to Chief Justice IHC and speaker National Assembly to make them aware of the reservations of the council.
The council expressed satisfaction over the SOPs worked out by ministry of religious affairs regarding re-cycling of holy pages.
