Islamabad: Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the need for cooperation between federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governments for the development, prosperity and maintenance of law and order in the province.
PM Shehbaz Sharif was talking to Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, who called on him in Islamabad on Monday. The meeting was also attended by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan and States and Frontier Regions Engineer Amir Muqam, Advisor to PM on Political and Public Affairs and Inter-Provincial Coordination Rana Sanaullah Khan and advisor to CM KP on Finance Muzammil Aslam were also present during the meeting.
The Prime Minister said the provincial government needs to further accelerate efforts for peace and security in the province. He said provincial government should strengthen its institutions for counter terrorism efforts.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said the federal and provincial governments will continue their joint efforts to completely eliminate terrorism.
The Prime Minister highlighted that the provincial government must fulfill its constitutional responsibility for maintaining law and order in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and for the welfare of its people.
He noted that the provincial government has the authority to take steps for the betterment of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the areas of health and education.
The Prime Minister assured that the federal government has always been committed to the well-being of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an important part of the federation, and the federal government will continue its efforts within its constitutional framework for the prosperity of the people of the province.
The Prime Minister emphasized that close coordination and effective communication between the federal and provincial governments are essential for national development and public service.
The Prime Minister assured cooperation from the federal government for development projects, improving infrastructure, education, health and increasing employment opportunities within the federal framework.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said the federal government is committed to taking along all the provinces and is focused on the vision of inclusive development. He said through mutual consultation and collaboration, national unity, stability, and prosperity can be effectively achieved.
