We will not touch public wealth; returning the looted trust is our commitment: Dr. Shafiqur Rahman

Dhaka: Ameer Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, while reaffirming his firm resolve to never harm public wealth, said that corruption is not part of their character or temperament. He stated that returning the trust looted from the people to its rightful owners is their fundamental responsibility and commitment.He made these remarks while addressing a gathering ahead of a public outreach campaign and rally in the Dhaka-15 parliamentary constituency, held in front of the East Baishteki Graveyard Mosque in North Kafrul Ward No. 4.Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that only those who know how to respect mothers and sisters as their own mothers can build a better future Bangladesh.Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said 'If any of our words have caused pain to any mother or sister, we seek forgiveness for the sake of Allah. We want to serve the people with sincerity; may Allah Almighty accept our efforts. Our objective is not to impose the personal agenda of any individual or group.'The public outreach campaign and rally were attended by Jamaat-e-Islami Executive Member Mubarak Hussain; Central Majlis-e-Amila member and Deputy Ameer of Dhaka Metropolitan North, Abdul Rahman; Central Vice President of the Bangladesh Workers Welfare Federation, Laskar Mohammad Tasleem; along with presidents and office-bearers of various wards.After the gathering, the rally peacefully passed through different streets of the area. On the occasion, participants raised slogans in favor of establishing a just society and a corruption-free state.
