Lahore: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a special meeting of the Health and Population Department, and directed the authorities concerned to establish, for the first time in history, a separate Monitoring, Reporting and Elevation Department in the Health Department. She also directed them to introduce a comprehensive digital referral system in primary and secondary healthcare centres across Punjab.

Madam Chief Minister gave approval to purchase new and modern vehicles for 'Clinic on Wheels' in the province. Secretary Health and Population Department briefed her,"Number of 'Clinics on Wheels' will exceed 544 by the end of May." He added,"Outsourcing of health centers in Punjab continues successfully. 9,000 doctors' applications have been received for 982 Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics in the province. 315 Maryam Nawaz Hospital will be run on joint venture mode, for which 93 applications have been received."

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was apprised,"First batch of 500 Community Health Inspectors will be active in Punjab from April 28." She also discussed in the meeting Primary and Secondary Healthcare Service Bill 2025, and issues related to drug manufacturers, exporters and drug sales licenses.
