Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched first Punjab honorarium card for Imam Masjid. A ceremony to distribute honorarium cards among the Imams of mosques was held in Lahore Thursday. Monthly honorarium of Rs 25000 each will be given to more than 66000 Imams in Punjab for the first time. This project will cost Rs 20 billion.
Direct digital payment will be made to the Imams to ensure transparency. Imams can draw amount from ATM through honorarium card. Permanent payment will be made to Imams through CM honorarium card from February.
A special documentary was run in respect of CM Punjab honorarium card project in the ceremony. CM Punjab distributed honorarium cards among Imams on stage. Honorarium cards were presented to Rafiq Mughal from Attock, Rizwan Kausar from Faisalabad. Nadir Raza Jaffri from Multan, Abdul Wahid from Lahore, Ghulam Mustafa from Bhakkar, Owais Manzoor from Pakpattan, Syed Muhammad Aun from Muzaffargarh and Atta ur Rehman from DG Khan.
